GUIDELINES FOR CONTINUATION
- Each applicant must be an active member of MILFORD HILLS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH and be enrolled full time (12+ credit hours) in an undergraduate program (maximum of 8 semesters). This scholarship is NOT available for graduate studies.
- Applications are available in the church office or by filling out the online form. Applications must be completed and returned to the church office no later than May 31.
- Completed applications must include a copy of the grades from the previous semester.
- Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee and the recipients will be notified by mail of the results of that review.
- Each applicant will be awarded an equal amount based on the number of qualifying applicants and the available Herman Scholarship Funds.
- Each scholarship will be divided into two payments: the first at the beginning of the school year and the second after the committee receives the first-semester grade report and continuing eligibility is determined. All payments will be paid to the parent(s) of the scholarship recipient.
- Transcripts and grade reports may be submitted by email to office@milfordhillsumc.org or mailed to MHUMC 1630 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury, NC 28144.
C.W. HERMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
GUIDELINES FOR INITIAL APPLICATION
- Each applicant must be an active member (member for at least one year) of MILFORD HILLS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH and be enrolled full time (12+ credit hours) in an undergraduate program (maximum of 8 semesters) at an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Applications are available in the church office or by filling out the online form.
- Completed applications must be returned to the church no later than April 30.
- Two letters of recommendation and a current transcript are required to be submitted with the application.
- Each applicant will be interviewed by the Scholarship Committee during the month of April. The awarding of scholarships is then determined by the consensus of the committee, and the recipients will be notified by mail.
- Each applicant will be awarded an equal amount based on the number of qualifying applicants, amount to be determined by available Herman Scholarship Funds. The financial need of the applicant will not be considered.
- Each scholarship will be divided into two payments: the first at the beginning of the school year and the second after the committee receives the first-semester grade report and continuing eligibility is determined. All payments will be paid to the parent(s) of the scholarship recipient.
